Effect of dog's bite

A dogs bite can be a life threatening condition for the person that is bitten as this can result in death. The bite of a healthy dog is although alarming and causes an increased chance of infection as well as exposes the person to pain as well as disease and should be taken seriously however it is nothing compared to that by a diseased dog. It is the bite of a mad dog or rabid dog that one should fear and stay cautious about the most. Healthy pet dogs that are vaccinated on a routine basis as well as kept clean are harmless and usually never bite their masters.

The only time a dog bites in sane scenarios is when it suspects the person to be of harm or an enemy.

A mad dog is infected with the rabis virus and thus when it bites a human being it transmits the organism to the human's body. This is a deadly virus and the patient has no chance of recovery.

The civil authorities all over the world have an eye for dogs that are rabid and there is a strict order to kill any dog that is tested positive for the disease while the remaining should be vaccinated as a precaution. The manifestations of being infected by the rabies virus are malaise and extreme hydrophobia or fear of water. The patient is scared of water and has to given an anti rabies serum and kept in isolation till he improves. This is not the fate however of the dog who has to be kept in isolation and shot dead upon confirmation of the disease.
